The photo-man^[1] is a character in EarthBound. He appears at various points throughout the game, taking pictures of Ness and his companions to preserve their memories of their adventure. When Ness walks onto a set area, the Photo-Man will gracefully fall down to take a picture, saying "Pictures taken instantaneously! I'm a photographic genius if I do say so myself!" Instead of the commonly-used "Say, cheese!", the photo-man exclaims, "Say... fuzzy pickles!" ("cheese sandwich" in the Japanese version).^[2] At the end of the game, after bringing Paula home, when Ness arrives at his home, his mother will tell him that a man dropped by a photo album. During the credits sequence, the player can see all of the photographs taken by the photo-man.

Trivia

In Animal Crossing: New Leaf, Gulliver may describe himself as being in "a fuzzy pickle", in reference to Photo-Man's commonly used phrase "Say... fuzzy pickles!"
