The Ramblin' Evil Mushroom first appears in EarthBound. Before being battled, they look like regular mushrooms. However, if Ness walks by an area with them, they'll attack. Ramblin' Evil Mushrooms return in Mother 3, due to the character limit the fan translation shortened their name to Ramblin' Mushroom. Similar to EarthBound, they appear as a regular mushroom on the overworld until approached. They can attack by scatteing rspores to inflict the Strangeness ailment which works very similarly to Mushroomization.
Tougher versions of this enemy in Mother 3 are the Scamperin' Mushroom and the Naughty Mushroom.

The Ramblin' Evil Mushroom appears as an item, where upon throwing it at an enemy and it hitting them, it Mushroomizes the enemy, reversing their controls. It was revealed during the Smash Direct on August 8th, 2018.
