Drugstore
Drugstores (Japanese:くすりや Drugstore, alternatively Drug stores) are shops in EarthBound Beginnings and EarthBound, commonly found in towns. They usually offer weapons, armor, and medicines, and contain an ATM and a payphone.
In EarthBound Beginnings
Drugstores are the secondary places where players can buy items. In particular, drugstores are found in smaller, more rural towns while other cities have department stores. Drugstores have a simple selection of items consisting of weapons and medicine. There are only two drugstores found in the game, those being in:
Both drugstores are indicated by a sign outside which reads "JACK", who is implied to be the owner of the drugstore chain. A middle-aged woman (possibly Jack's wife) whose husband died in a war runs Snowman's drugstore. [1]
In EarthBound
While department stores were the main stores in EarthBound Beginnings with drugstores being a secondary, this is reversed now with drugstores being found in the majority of towns. Much like in Beginnings, drugstores feature weapons, armor, and medicine, as well as food and battle items on some occasions. Drugstores are found in:
In the Super Smash Bros. series
A drugstore is featured in the Onett stage first appearing Super Smash Bros. Melee, and later games. The drugstore is the centermost building with two awnings that function as platforms. After being stepped on enough times, the drugstore sign falls causing the awnings to collapse, and are unusable for a certain amount of time.
