EarthBound Player's Guide description
"When you go upstairs to read the Hieroglyph in the museuem, you'll run into a really old man wrapped in rags. He'll pop out of his coffin to attack you. When you defeat him, he'll leave behind some Mummy Wrap."
Trivia
There is a glitch involving it, since they are avoidable. During the ending they do not disappear, so if during the ending Ness's party were to be KO'd by it, the game would go into an endless loop of game over screens. Like many other glitches from the original SNES version of EarthBound, this glitch was fixed in Mother 1+2.
