Cave of the Past |
The Bionic Kraken is an enemy in EarthBound that can appear uncommonly in the third section of the Cave of the Past. It resembles a large, pink snake with red hair and red and white breath. It is a tougher variant on the standard Kraken. Its attacks target the entire party, including generating a tornado, using PSI Thunder β, or breathing fire using PSI Fire γ. It spawns alone.
Bionic Kraken is one of the enemies in EarthBound with a 1/128 drop; it drops the Gutsy bat.
Text | Effect |
---|---|
Breathe fire | Generic PSI Fire γ; 180-300 points of damage to all party members |
Emit a pale green light | Cancels all active PSI effects |
Use a Crashing Boom Bang attack | Generic PSI Thunder β; 60-180 points of damage to two random party members |
Generate a tornado | Deals high-level damage to all party members |
EarthBound Player's Guide description
"This fire-breathing aquatic serpent gets steamed when you interrupt it in the Tunnel of the Past. Bottle Rockets and regular attacks will sink it."

Trivia
- The EarthBound Player's Guide erroneously states that the Bionic Kraken drops the Legendary bat, and mistakenly states that the Kraken (specifically, the three Krakens in the Sea of Eden) drops the Gutsy bat.
