Summers is a town in EarthBound. It is located in the FoggyLand region, and is next to the port town of Toto. In the town are typical buildings, such as a hospital, a shop, a hotel, as well as other buildings like the Stoic Club, its own restaurant, and a museum. South of the main street is a beach where the occasional enemy can be fought. Residents are shown to have a French accent.
Summers has a population of 3,800 people plus 10 surfers, 73,802 fish, and an average temperature of 88°F. There are also 23 convertibles. [1]
Overview
Summers is located far south of Winters and is said to be its sister city. In a stark contrast to Winters being a cold, mostly uninhabited region with natural surroundings, Summers is a warm, beach side resort and is a popular tourist destination. The town has two main areas: the Ca'Lyon Beach, and the street near the North Residential Area. The street is lined with buildings and palm trees. From left to right there are six building: L'hotel de Summers, a restaurant, the drugstore, the Stoic Club, the Scaraba Cultural Museum, and a hospital.
Due to the city being a luxury resort, it has a reputation for having overpriced items, food, and hotel bills. The town is connected to a port in the east named Toto.
Geography
Summers is part of the FoggyLand region east of Eagleland, and is in the southernmost part of the region. True to its name, the city's climate is typically warm beach weather throughout the majority of the year. The town is set along a large beach with aqua-colored water, however, the water becomes a more bluish color beyond the beach. Summers is relatively small compared to Winters in the north, as it is mostly a straight road to Toto in the east.
History
Ness, Paula and Jeff arrive here after crashing the Sky Runner during their trip from Winters. Porky has evidently visited here prior as indicated by the hotel manager referencing his name, and the graffiti drawn on a sign near Toto. Ness speaks to a sailer in Toto who complains about his wife who is in the Stoic Club. He learns the phone number of the club, as the team need a reservation to be allowed in. Inside, he finds the Magic Cake Vendor who is the sailer's wife, encouraging her to return to her business of selling magic cakes. She offers one to the team, which causes them to fall asleep and witness a dream of Poo in Dalaam, where he is completing his training and is sent to join the team in Summers.
After Poo arrives, they visit the Scaraba Cultural Museum where Poo studies a set of hieroglyphics telling the group about their next destination, Scaraba, a country with a mysterious pyramid containing the mystical Hawk Eye. Upon leaving, they recieve a call from Mr. Spoon in Fourside who claims to have made a great discovery. The party then speak to the sailer in Toto after solving the relationship with his wife, who takes them by boat to Scaraba in the south.
