Dalaam, referred to as Ramma in Japan (ランマ Ramma) is a town in EarthBound. It is located in the Far East of the other locations Ness has visited, in the Chommo region. Dalaam is the hometown of Poo, one of the people accompanying Ness on his adventure.
Overview
Dalaam is on the mountains which rise high above the clouds and in the sky of the Chommo region. At the top of the mountain is Poo's palace. It has only one business in it due to it being quite small compared to the other towns in the game. South eastern area is the Place of Nothingness, in which Poo undergoes his Mu Training. In the south west is the cave which leads to Pink Cloud, one of Ness's Sanctuaries.
Role in EarthBound
Dalaam is first visited after the scene where Ness and his friends eat the Magic Cake. At this moment, Poo is undergoing the last step in his training, which is to complete his Mu Training. Once he completes it, he teleports to Ness in Summers to join the adventure.
They later return to Dalaam in order to obtain the melody from Ness's sixth Your Sanctuary location, the Pink Cloud. However, when Ness and his friends try to get into the entrance, it is obstructed by three rabbit statues at first. Therefore, he needs to get the Carrot Key first from the fifth Your Sanctuary location in a chest there to remove them. Afterwards, they can enter the cave to reach Pink Cloud.

Trivia
- The melody to Dalaam's theme is taken from one of Keiichi Suzuki's earlier songs, called "Words, Colors, Noise, and Booms" from his album SUZUKI白書, which was released in 1991, predating EarthBound by three years.[1][2]
