Bateau is a character in Mother 3, who resides in Tazmily Village. During a cutscene where two trees have been torn apart in the Sunshine Forest, he mentions that whatever could have caused it couldn't have been human, and then defensively says that it wasn't him. When the villagers get to the Wall Staple-susceptible cliff of Mt. Oriander, he mentions how he gets "good" bad vibes from the animal critters of the forest.
He runs a message service, which utilizes carrier pigeons as delivery tools.
Trivia
- He greatly resembles Picky from EarthBound.
- His Japanese name is a pun on ハト hato, meaning pigeon, and refers to the use of pigeons in his message service.
