PK Thunder is a PSI attack, first introduced in Mother. It has a variety of effects between games, but the most common effect is hitting a random enemy for lightning-based damage. PK Thunder can be reflected by the Franklin Badge in EarthBound and Mother 3.

In the Super Smash Bros. series

Super Smash Bros. Melee

PK Thunder is Ness's Special Up move. He can redirect it at himself to fire himself at enemies, which does much damage.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl

PK Thunder is once again Ness's Special Up move, but is also now Lucas's. Lucas's is different in the fact that it can move through enemies, while Ness's can't.
