Frying pans are equippable items in the EarthBound games. They are used as weapons primarily in the first and second games.

Usage

When equipped, frying pans raise the Offense of the holder by a varying amount. They are the signiture weapons used by the female party members, namely Ana and Paula. In Mother 3 only one frying pan is present in the game, as they have been replaced with Gloves which are used as Kumatora's signiture weapon.

The frying pans in EarthBound Beginnings are equippable items that only can be used by Ana. There is a total of three different frying pans that can be obtained throughout the game, with varying Offense increasing values.

In EarthBound

EarthBound introduces more frying pans for a total of eight. They are Paula's primary weapon and can only be utilized by her. All frying pans raise her offense with various values, however one also has additional effects.

In Mother 3

In Mother 3 only one frying pan is present, as their purpose has instead been given to Gloves. Similar to previous games this frying pan is only usable by the female party member Kumatora, however it is not her primary weapon, and due to this, as well as it being fake (implied by the name and in game description), it is not as powerful as gloves.

• The only frying pan to appear in Mother 3 is sold at a theater in New Pork City, as a reference to the frying pans from the games before it. Kumatora is the only one able to equip the Fake Frying Pan.
• The Fake Frying Pan has a separate attack sound effect from Kumatora's usual combo sound effects.
