The Rust Promoter (Japanese: さびのもと Rust Spray) and its improved version the Rust Promoter DX (Japanese: さびのもとスーパー Super Rust Spray) are damage dealing battle items in EarthBound which are effective against mechanical enemies. It is succeeded in Mother 3 by the Saltwater Gun.
Usage
When used by Jeff in battle, the Rust Promoter deals about 100~300 damage to metallic enemies, with a luck/80 chance to miss. The Rust Promoter DX deals 200~600 damage to metallic enemies with the same miss calculations.
