Rings are equippable items in Mother and Mother 3, mainly intended to increase the wearer's Defense, but have some additional effects in Mother 3. The Rings in Mother were originally called Bracelets in the Japanese Famicom version, this was however changed to Rings in the English prototype.
In Mother
The Rings in Mother have their own equipment slot, being displayed second from the bottom in the equipment subscreen on the status screen. They are comparable with the Coins of the same game, as they both serve the same defense-increasing purpose and they both have their own equipment slots, although the rings generally raise the user's defense with a bit more in terms of value.
Brass Ring
The Brass Ring (ようせいのうでわ Fairy Bracelet) increases the user's defense by 8 when equipped. It can be purchased for $460 from one of the three gift shops in the northeastern portion of the town square in Magicant, being the shop located in between the other two.

"When you USE it, DEFENSE goes up a bit."
Silver Ring
The Silver Ring (てんしのうでわ Angel Bracelet) increases the user's defense by 14 when equipped. It can be purchased for $825 from one of the three gift shops in the northeastern portion of the town square in Magicant, being the shop located in between the other two.

Gold Ring
The Gold Ring (めがみうでわ Goddess Bracelet) increases the user's defense by 28 when equipped. It can be purchased for $1510 from one of the three gift shops in the northeastern portion of the town square in Magicant, being the shop located in between the other two.

In Mother 3
In Mother 3, Rings are equipped in the "Other" slot. They are usable by Lucas, Kumatora, and Duster.
