The Repel Ring is an item in the English release of EarthBound Beginnings and Mother 1+2. In the Japanese Famicom version it was instead the Friendship Ring.

Usage

When used, it will prevent Ninten and his friends from encountering enemies that are weak in comparison to their current stats. It will after a certain amount of time lose its powers, and must be rebought in order to reattain the ability.

In the Japanese Famicom version, the Friendship Ring has no function when used. It can only be purchased from Magicant's Pendant shop. The Friendship Ring still exists in the coding of the English release of the game (abbriviated as FrndshpRing), but is otherwise unobtainable without hacking.
