The Meteorite Piece is a key item in EarthBound. It contains a special material known as Zexonyte which is used to power the Phase Distorter.
Usage
The Zexonyte is required in order to complete the Phase Distorter 3, so Dr. Andonuts sends Ness to Onett in order to harvest it from the meteorite that fell at the beginning of the game. Once obtained, it is given to Dr. Andonuts and the party are able to use the Phase Distorter.
