Lotus root

Lotus roots (Japanese: レンコン Lotus Root) are an obstacle in Mother 3, found in the Mole Cricket Hole. They can only be removed after defeating the Mole Cricket for a second time and earning the Mole Cricket's friendship. When examined after earning the Mole Crickets' trust, a group of Mole Crickets will swarm around the root and eat it to clear the obstacle from the maze permanently. A hallucination of a lotus root also appears on Tanetane Island, south of Mixolydia's home.
