If you'd like to have a more visually clear understanding of what I've mentioned, I'd be glad to do some scanning. I can however not contribute much more than uploading images from the book, as my knowledge about japanese (which the texts are written in in more than 95% of the time) is severely limited. Names from the Mother Encyclopedia
First (since I don't know much about this encyclopedia), is this encyclopedia an official product? Just double-checking.
Second, what other otherwise-unnamed things have names in it? Miles (talk) 13:45, 3 April 2011 (MDT)
- Well, according to the book's back cover, it is © Nintendo and Shigesato Itoi, so I'd say that it is considered as (at least sufficiently) canon. The book is quite cozy and provides with some really obscure tidbits of information, like the characters' length and weight, so I'd actually recommend all of the Mother fans out there to purchase a copy when they get the chance. :3
And there are unfortunately not that many more locations/other stuff with specified names. There are a few ones which have different names when romanized, compared to that of the game (which merely can be made use of as redirects). Some examples are that Lloyd's name is spelled as "Roid" (don't know if that really helps us that much with the name issue) and that "Ana" is spelled as "Anna". I can list some of the more interesting ones if you'd like to.
- Pippi's Mother = Mrs. Lindgren
- Cemetery = simply referred to as South Cemetery and Cemetery
- Crystal Cavern = Magicant Underground (I've been asking about this on the page's talk page, actually)
- Ruins in Yucca Desert = simply Ruins of Desert
- Swamp = Swamp Land
And then there's some individual referred to as Goldrich Duncan who supposedly lives near Thanksgiving (I'm thinking Duncan's Factory), who is mentioned in one of the few texts in plain english. Linky.
