I'm temporarily making a draft page for my SmashWiki AFD prank since this wiki is more inactive and is more likely to go unnoticed until the big day.

The official symbol of the series is a heart, which represents the player's soul.

Undertale is known for being one of the most successful indie games of all time, being praised for it's quirky humor, story, gameplay and music. In Super Smash Bros. the series is represented by the game's main character, Frisk, appearing as an upcoming playable character in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, along with an unrevealed stage. Previously a recurring character, Sans, was released as a downloadable Mii Gunner costume in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as part of {{h2|Downloadable content (SSBU)|Round 3}}. The costume also comes with a new arrangement of his boss theme {{SSBUMusicLink|Other|MEGALOVANIA}} as a DLC music track, only playing on stages with music currently listed in the "Other" category, although it was confirmed that said music track will be moved to the Undertale universe upon Frisk's release.

Franchise description

Undertale was created by indie game designer Toby Fox, who previously worked on EarthBound fan games in the past such as the EarthBound Halloween Hack.

Undertale was developed by Toby Fox across 32 months. Development was financed through a crowdfunding campaign on the website Kickstarter. The campaign was launched on June 25, 2013 with a goal of US$5,000; it ended on July 25, 2013, with US$51,124 raised by 2,398 people (1022.48% of the original goal). Undertale's creation ensued after Fox created a battle system using the game creation system GameMaker: Studio.[18] He wanted to develop a role-playing game that was different from the traditional design, which he often found "boring to play". He set out to develop a game with "interesting characters", and that "utilizes the medium as a storytelling device ... instead of having the story and gameplay abstractions be completely separate".

The first installment in the series, Undertale released on September 15, 2015 for the Microsoft Windows. The game stars a child who fell into the Underground and begins a journey to return to the surface. Throught the game Frisk will come accross different monsters who Frisk has the option of killing or sparing them. There are three different routes that can be taken depending on how the player deals with the monsters  thry meet: the "Normal Route" is taken when the player kills some but not all monsters, the "Genocide Route" is taken when the player kills all of the monsters, and the "True Pacifist Route" is taken when all monsters are spared.

Undertale recieved incredibly strong positive reception almost immediately upon release. Many critics praise the storyline and quirky characters. Players applauded the unique battle system baded on the player navigating through mini-bullet hell attacks by the opponent. The music for the game was also greatly appreciated, with one of the most famous songs being {{SSBUMusicLink|Other|MEGALOVANIA}}, which itself has appeared in several other fan games made by Toby Fox, such as the aforementioned EarthBound Halloween Hack under the title Dr. Andonuts's Rage.

Undertale had also recieved several sequals, such as Deltarune, which takes place in a different world from Undertale, but still features the characters and other similarities. Currently a new installment to the Undertale series is in development and will also be part of the EarthBound series. The game is being developed by Toby Fox and the creator of the EarthBound franchise Shigesato Itoi as a crossover of the to franchises. The game was announced on April 1st, 2020 with the title EarthBound: Down Under and is expected to release on March 31st, 2021.

For fighter info, see Frisk (SSBU).

Frisk is the main protagonist of Toby Fox's highly successful indie RPG game Undertale. Frisk is a human child whos gender is unspecified, who embarks on an adventure in the Underground to return to the surface.

Character discription

Frisk is the last of the eight humans to fall into the Underground on Mount Ebott. Frisk meets Flowey who pretends to give honest advice, but then he attempts to kill Frisk. Toriel then comes and rescues Frisk by hitting Flowey with fire magic, then she guides Frisk through the Ruins.

After Frisk travels through the Ruins they arrive at Toriel's home. Here Toriel battles Frisk to proove that Frisk is able to survive outside of the Ruins. Afterwards Frisk travels throughout the Underground to find their way out.

There are three endings that depend on how Frisk dealt with monsters. The Neutral Route is taken if some but not all monsters were killed: During the batte against Flowey Frisk calls for help from the seven human souls to defeat Flowey, then afterwards has the anility to spare or kill Flowey before returning to the surface.

The Genocide Route is taken if Frisk kills every monster they encounter. Many characters comment that Frisk has a creepy smile throughout the route, and seemingly Chara had control pf Frisk. Sans comments that it would be great if Frisk continued pretending to be a human, and Asgore inquires what kind of monster Frisk is. At the end Sans attempts to stop Frisk from continuing in a final battle in the Last Corridor. Sans dodges all of Frisk's attacks until the end, where he simply does not attack and makes his turn last forever, making the only way to defeat him being to let him fall asleep. Then Frisk kills the sleeping Sans, then kills Flowey, and that causes Chara to appear, who gives Frisk the option to "ERASE" the world or "DO NOT", both lead to the same result however.

The True Pacifist Route is taken if Frisk spares and befriends all of the monsters, and after the Neutral Route is completed. At the end of the route Flowey stole the SOULs of the six other humans. He attempts to kill Frisk, but is stopped by Undyne, Toriel, Alphys, Asgore, Sans, and Papyrus. Then Flowey transform into his true form after gsining immerse power from the souls, he then is revealed to actually be Asriel Dreemurr. He then battles Frisk, who is completely invincible to all his attacks. Then Frisk "save" everyone, including Asriel. After that Asriel reverts back to his chid form, apologizing for all that he has done, and Frisk frees everyone and they all return to the Surface.
