This article is about the character statistics. For status problems, see Status ailments.
A list of statistics in the Mother series.

Experience

Experience determines the current level a character is at.

HP

HP(Short for hit points) is a character's health. When HP reaches 0, a character will become unconscious. In EarthBound and Mother 3, it is represented by a rolling counter.

PP

PP(Short for PSI points) determines a character's ability to use PSI.

Offense

Offense determines how much damage a character will do with a physical attack.

Defense

Defense determines how much damage will be taken when receiving an attack.

Guts

Guts determines the chance of getting a SMAAAASH hit, and protects characters from receiving mortal damage occasionally.

IQ

IQ Determines the amount of damage a PSI attack deals. Jeff can also fix more things when resting at a hotel when this stat is higher.

Speed

Speed determines the turn order in battles, as well as the rate of dodging an enemy attack in Mother 3.

Luck

Luck raises chances of dodging an attack.

Vitality/Strength

Vitality and Strength raise the amount of HP gain on level up. Vitality also decreases the chance of status ailments on the character.

Fight

Fight is only present in Mother. It lowers the chance of an enemy getting a SMAAAASH hit, while raising the chance of the character getting one.

Force

Force is only present in Mother. It raises the amount of PP gain on level up. It also decreases the chance of status ailments on the character.
