Mother's variation of Magicant takes place in [[Maria]]'s mind, with her world being characterized by light green rivers and a pink cloud-like ground. [[Ninten]] arrives here via a mysterious rock-like object outside of [[Podunk]], and can warp back any time using the [[List of key items in Mother#Onyx Hook|Onyx Hook]] he obtains in [[Magicant Underground]]. There are many things here, such as shops selling the only defensive equipment in the game, a hospital and hotel free of charge; and the [[Mysterious Goods-Keeper]] that Ninten can give items to for storing, and the [[Mysterious Mimicker]] that acts as a save point. There is also an abundance of [[List of miscellaneous items in Mother#Red Weed|Red Weed]]s in Magicant, which when taken to [[Queen Mary]]'s Fountain, will turn into [[List of recovery items in Mother#Magic Herb|Magic Herb]]s. Magicant is destroyed after reminding Queen Mary a [[Eight Melodies|certain song]] that used to be sung to [[Giygas|Giegue]] and finally resting in peace.

In EarthBound, it appears and is created when [[Ness]] successfully gathers the [[Eight Melodies]] of the world. Ness's Magicant has illusions of friends and enemies he's met on his journey, and old memories of his family, friends, and the younger versions of himself. His Magicant also changes color depending on who he talks to, and it can be reverted back by talking to sunflowers or walking out of a building. It has a hotel free of charge, and a shop that only sells [[Pendant|Earth Pendants]] and Magic pudding. There is also the [[Sea of Eden]], which Ness must travel through to reach his [[Ness's Nightmare|nightmare]] and conquer the evil in his mind once and for all. It can be inferred that Ness's Magicant is destroyed after clearing his mind of evil, similar to how Maria's Magicant was destroyed.
