The Doll (also known as the Cupid-Doll; キューピーにんぎょう Cupid Doll) is the first boss in Mother, and resembles an ordinary baby doll that has been brought to life during the odd circumstances in the game, when a poltergeist appears in Ninten's house. It can be seen floating around in Mimmie's room and is presumably one of her toys. It can be the second enemy which Ninten fights against in the game if the player chooses to directly go into her room after fighting the first Lamp in Ninten's room; if he however chooses to enter Minnie's room first, he will meet yet another lamp. The doll is vital to defeat as it possesses the first melody, which is essential to receive plotwise.

It's generally considered easy to defeat because of its low stats and lack of varying attacks, which likely is due to it being one of the earliest enemies in the game. Ninten's limited amount of attacks at this point makes the fight quite repetitive as only one offensive attack is available for use, it is however sufficient to defeat the enemy.
