User:Bandee of the Stars

Hey there! I’m Bandee of the Stars, better known in some circles as YoshiFlutterJump. You might know me from some other NIWA wikis, most notably WiKirby. I’m a relatively new fan of the EarthBound series, but I’ve played and beaten the entire trilogy and it’s easy to see why these games are so beloved.

My first exposure to the series was through Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, which was actually my first exposure to most Nintendo franchises not called Mario or Pokémon. Besides featuring Ness as a playable character (as well as Lucas, via DLC), there was also a five-minute demo for EarthBound included. I played it, but it never really grabbed me at the time. My first real experience with the series was when I played EarthBound Beginnings on Switch in early 2023. Perhaps starting with that game wasn’t the best choice—the frustrating random encounters made me put down the game for a while when I got to Magicant—but I started playing it again a few months later and started to realize what made these games so special.
