The Ruins of Desert is a big, maze-like grotto filled with monkeys. A lot of the monkeys will lie; however, some of them do give useful hints. The maze consists of two floors, the upper floor serves as the entrance which follows a rectangular path along the outer walls. An opening to the center area is found in the south of the upper floor, which splits into two paths with left leading to a dead end, while right loops in a half counterclockwise like pattern, and reaches a hole to the lower floor. | |||
The lower floor is the much larger, maze-like area. From the ladder, the path leads left to a split where continuing straight leads to a [[PSI Stone]]. Down will advance through the maze by first shifting right, and then down before hanging left with several branching paths. Most paths lead to dead ends, with down being the only way to advance, then the path splits once more with right being a dead end, and left continuing in a long zigzag pattern. The path will then continue up to another split in the road, where going right will lead to mostly dead ends, though going straight, then down, and finally right and up will lead to a large open room with many monkeys and one penguin mixed in. Back at the initial split, going up will eventually lead to a hole leading to a cave. An XX stone leading to {{ebb|Magicant}} is found in said cave, which can be used if Ninten has the [[Great-Grand Father's Diary]] in his inventory, and from there it allows Ninten and the party exit Magicant from a cave north of [[Youngtown]] as opposed to the previous exit south of [[Merrysville]]. | |||
