Moonside is a location in EarthBound. It is accessed through an area in Jackie's Cafe. The area is a parallel to Fourside. Indeed, words meanings are switched as well, with their yes meaning the no of the regular world and vice-versa. Spelling is also changed, making what some people say appear incoherent. An example to a small degree would be in "Welcome to Moonside". In Moonside, this can be, among other ways, "Wel come to Moo nsi ns dem oons ide". Enemies also appear in this town. The hotel of this town is called the Dark Moon hotel.
Moonside is a location in EarthBound. It is accessed through an area in Jackie's Cafe. The area is an illusionary world created by the Mani-Mani Statue as a parallel to Fourside, appearing completely black with all solid objects being outlined with color changing neons. The city is overall an inversion of the real world as many words have their meanings reversed, the most common example being "yes" and "no".

Overview
In EarthBound, Moonside appears after Everdred is badly injured. He tells Ness to check the area behind the counter of the Jackie's Cafe. Ness does so, and he and Jeff end up at Moonside. Colors are inverted and people are hard to understand. In addition to this, when he tries to go to the Monotoli Building, he is blocked by a man who wants someone with connected eyebrows and gold tooth. Various people around Moonside can teleport Ness's party around Moonside. He eventually ends up in a building after talking to one of these people, he meets an invisible man. This invisible man can only be seen by Moonside residents. He eventually takes this man to the man blocking the Monotoli Building, and the two ditch Ness and Jeff, allowing them to face the Mani-Mani statue next to the building. The two then go face the Mani-Mani Statue, and upon defeating it, find that Moonside in its entirety was just an illusion created by the Mani-Mani statue.
Moonside is found behind the counter of Jackie's Cafe. The city resembles Fourside of the real world, though it is dark and the buildings and trees are outlined with color changing neons. Word meanings are switched as well, with their yes meaning the no of the regular world and vice-versa. Many citizens speak the phrase "Welcome to Moonside" in scrambled ways, examples "Wel come to Moo nsi ns dem oons ide" or "Moonwel Ot Cosidme". Enemies also appear in this town. The town still features a hospital and a hotel, called the Dark Moon hotel. There is no Drugstore or Department store as instead items are sold inside the Dark Moon hotel.

Throughout the town are various people resembling the Tough Guy. These people will teleport the player to another location saying "Hello! And... goodbye!". The Monotoli Building in the south is blocked off by a man asking for someone with connected eyebrows and a gold tooth. After speaking to him, one specific warp man will appear which will teleport the player to various enclosed areas with presents and other warp men. Eventually a warp man resembling a businessman will warp the player into a room with no exits with a silhouette of a man. He will follow the player when spoken to, which then allows the other person to teleport the player to the hotel. The invisible man will show off his connected eyebrows and gold tooth, being the person the man blocking the Monotoli Building was looking for. They will run off allowing Ness and Jeff to confront the Mani-Mani Statue in front of the Monotoli Building.

Just before then they recieve a glimpse of Geldegarde Monotoli, who will quickly deny himself being Monotoli and vanish. The two then go face the Mani-Mani Statue, and upon defeating it, find that Moonside in its entirety was just an illusion created by the Mani-Mani statue, and that they were actually in the storage room of Jackie's Cafe. A mouse will say that the two were wandering in circles for a long time with a faraway look in their eyes.
