Shigesato Itoi
Shigesato Itoi (糸井重里 Itoi Shigesato) is the creator of the Mother series. He is referenced many times throughout the series, such as in the Yucca Desert when Ninten steps on a land mine, and a message addressed to the player appears. He was born on November 10th, 1948. He is a large cultural influence of Japan. He has worked on many things, other than the Mother series, although, outside of Japan, that is what he is most known for. His other occupations include voice acting, copywriting, and writing essays and lyrics. According to him he got ideas for mother 3 while making earthbound/mother 2.
In 1998 he opened up his own website, Hobo Nikkan Itoi Shinbun (Almost Daily Itoi News). It is a website he has updated for the past 12 years daily, writing about his life, and some of his essays and interviews. Occasionally he will talk about his dog, Bouillon.
