Master Belch is an employ of Giygas and a minor antagonist in EarthBound and the boss of his base. Despite his gross appearance, Belch is the individual responsible for the kidnappings of several Mr. Saturns and for releasing zombies in Threed, which went on to terrorize the place. His favorite food is Fly Honey, which is obtained by defeating the Boogey Tent.  Once this item is used in battle against Belch, he will proceed to eat it instead of fight, making him rather easy to defeat. It is not required to use the Fly Honey, however. Doing so opens the way to Milky Well back through Saturn Valley.

His favorite food is Fly Honey, which is obtained by defeating the Boogey Tent.  Once this item is used in battle against Belch, he will occasionally waste turns eaiting it instead of fighting. Without using the Fly Honey he will automatically heal with every attack dealt, making the fight normally impossible without. However, an exploit makes it possible to defeat him without Fly Honey, which is done by making him feel strange, which may cause him to exhale his nauseating breath on himself making himself nauseous. Because his auto healing ability does not apply to damage dealt from status ailments, he will be defeated upon taking 650 damage from nausea.

Once beaten, the way to Milky Well back through Saturn Valley is opened.

Master Belch later re-appears as a boss in Deep Darkness, having renamed himself Master Barf. That area also includes the Big Pile of Puke enemy, which seems to be a sprite recolor of Master Belch.
