Dungeon Man is a combination between a dungeon and a man, Brick Road, created by Dr. Andonuts. When Jeff first meets Brick Road in Winters, he tells him about how he wishes to become a dungeon, and is going to ask the help of Jeff's father to fulfill that dream. Later, Ness and his friends find Dungeon Man deep in Scaraba's desert.

Dungeon Man is a large maze with many branching paths. Throughout the dungeon, there are several benches dubbed the "Goodnight Bench" which fully heals the party when used. Much like Brick Road Maze the majority of the enemies are weak and do not pose a threat (although the later floors have stronger enemies), there are also many signs giving players advice, which each end with "...Brick Road.". Upon entering Dungeon Man, the path starts by going left and then up to a fork. Going left is a Goodnight Bench next to a payphone, while continuing leads to the hospital. The path going right continues before branching off to several paths, with one leading to a dead-end with an item, and a Goodnight Bench near an occupied bathroom. The path to advance is the leftmost path from the fork in the east end of the dungeon, then winds up then left to another fork, with the correct path being down. After turning left is another split with the path on the elevated path leading to several items, while the other path leads to four ropes, the third rope from the left advances to the second floor while the others lead to dead ends.

On the second floor the main path is the rightmost one that is on level ground, while the elevated sections mainly lead to items and another Goodnight Bench. The correct path is mostly straightforward, going down then left before splitting, with the path continuing left is a dead end. The path going up leads to a rope putting the player on elevated ground with a nearby rope leading to the third floor, though there are other paths leading to items.

The third floor has many enemies, however they are used for display and cannot reach the player. The path goes right then down to another split. The path to the rope leading to the fourth floor is the upper path, however the lower leads to another Goodnight Bench.

The fourth floor is the final floor where Brick Road is found combined with the dungeon. He congragulates the player telling them to take the first hole as the exit. On the second visit the second hole, previously blocked by a sign, is now usable which leads to where the yellow submarine can be optained.

Role in EarthBound
Dungeon Man is first visited after Ness opens the entrance with the Key to the tower. Ness and his friends then traverse the maze, climbing to the too floor to meet Brick Road. Upon meeting him, he congratulates Ness for reaching the top then decides to temporarily join his team, Ness and the rest then exit using the "Return Hole".

Back outside, Dungeon Man follows Ness through the desert and helps him in battle. However, due to his size he gets stuck between several palm trees south of the desert, as a result he cannot continue to follow Ness's party. In order to reach Deep Darkness Ness's party must cross a body of water, the Dungeon Man states he may have something that may help them cross and so the team re-enter. Dungeon Man states that Ness must take the "Goodbye Exit" hole to find what he needs. Jumping into the hole leads the team to Dungeon Man's Old Vehicle Collection, where they find a broken yellow submarine. Jeff fixes the submarine and then they exit to cross the water.

As a party member
After the first visit Dungeon Man will join the player as a temparory party member. In a similar vein to EVE in Beginnings, the Dungeon Man posses the highest offense of any character with his attacks being a one-hit KO.

Since Magicant returns as a stage in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, so does Dungeon Man as a platform. Additionally, the player can find Brick Road embedded within him by moving the camera inside of Dungeon Man. Dungeon Man also appears as a support spirit, providing immunity while falling.
