The Monkey Cave (タライ・ジャブの穴, The Hole of Tarai Jab) can be found in EarthBound's Dusty Dunes Desert. It is home to many monkeys and a wise man named Talah Rama, and it is here where Ness learns the PSI technique of Teleport α.
Progressing through the caves require giving items to the monkeys which inhabit the cave, most of which can be found within the cave itself. The only items needed from the start are a Skip sandwich, Picnic lunch and the Pencil eraser. A simple method through the caves is to give a Skip sandwich to the monkey in the first room, then a Protein drink to the monkey from there, and a ruler to the upcoming female monkey, which will give access to a King banana. Then returning to the cave where the Protein drink was given, giving a Pizza to the monkey beside it, then finally giving the King banana to Man K. Man will open the way to Talah Rama.
History
After Ness and Jeff defeat the Mani-Mani Statue in Moonside, Ness gets a call from Apple Kid saying that he had a new invention shipped to them through the Escargo Express "neglected class". After seeing the delivery man, he informs the two that he left the package in a cave in the desert. Ness and Jeff find the cave and enter; inside, they find many monkeys who are blocking the various tunnel entrances. In exchange for permission to move deeper into the cave, the monkeys ask for an array of items like Pizzas and Wet Towels, most of which can be found inside the cave. At the end, they find Talah Rama, who gives them Apple Kid's invention, the Yogurt Dispenser. He then asks a monkey to teach Ness how to Teleport.

Trivia
- One of the monkeys will ask for a Protein drink, and if refused to be given one will ask "Is it because I'm a kid?". In the Japanese version the item is named the Adult Drink and this line of dialog was likely written before the item was renamed, but went unnoticed afterwards.
