Peaceful Rest Valley is a location in EarthBound connecting Twoson to Happy Happy Village. Its name in the Japanese version is "Grateful Dead Valley," which was altered in localization to avoid legal issues with the band after which it was named.
This location is one of the biggest dificulty spikes, and is often advised that the player use a special trick so there is no need to fight any enemies.
The first time the player passes trough here, a bridge will be broken and a strange, pencil-shaped object will be blocking your way, so you will have to go back to Twoson , and Apple Kid will invent the pencil eraser so you will be able to go to Happy Happy Village.
After rescuing Paula , the bridge will be fixed.
