Japanese Name

A dictionary will probably say that tekitou means "adequate" or "suitable", but that's not all it means. When used informally, it means "random," "nonsense," or "whatever." The first meaning is typically written in kanji, while the second is more often written in kana. Considering how all of M3 is in hiragana, we have to go by context (Battle Memory), which seems to support the second meaning. Plus, 'Mato, who is very skilled in the art of Japanese, chose to translate it that way. Shouldn't it be the Whatever?
Oh, and is that maybe a pun using both meanings, as well as teki, enemy, and the fact that the Whatever is made of random odds and ends? I'm thinking along the lines of this: (Any random thing would be deemed suitable for making that ragtag enemy)...gah, that didn't make any sense, did it? AquaAzure 18:09, 7 February 2012 (EST)

Yes, while Mato translated it that way, some things suggest against it. For example, it was made with just "whatever was handy," which would make it a "Halfhearted Attempt," which was the name before the merge. Additionally, if it was just made with whatever was handy, it would be merely adequate, not an awesome world-domination chimera that poops solid gold. ;P Additionally, looking at Google Japan, Japanese fans go either way with it... *shrug*.
