Ruffini is a dog in EarthBound who appears in the Onett drug store. In the game, when talked to, Ruffini is temporarily possessed by the game's creator, Shigesato Itoi. He will tell the player how to know when a character can equip an item, and if the item is stronger than the current one. He often barks in the middle of his sentences. During the ending of the game, he is again possessed, and tells the player to send any comments to the game to "Nintendo's address on the box," and to address it to Ruffini the dog.
