Maria is a character from EarthBound Beginnings. She isthe wife of George, and great-grandmother of Ninten.
Appearance
According to the beginning of Mother, she and George disappeared in the year 1906. George returned two years later, but Maria did not, instead staying behind to take care of an infant Giegue, the game's primary villain.
She is a major driving force in the plot of Mother; the Eight Melodies is a lullaby that she sang to Giegue and the bulk of the plot revolves around learning said melody.
