Lou is a character in Mother 3. He can often be found practicing comedy routines with Bud.
Most of his comedy routines follow the same pattern, which is talking about a random subject, making a pun with it, and then Lou proceeds to smack Bud on the head, followed by a simultaneous bow performed by both of them, as two-key tune is heard.
In the Mother 3 fan translation, Lou was named after Lou Costello of the Abbott and Costello comedy duo. His original Japanese name, Achato, is a play on a Japanese manzai comedian named Hanabishi Achako.
