Giant Step is a location in EarthBound, being the first of the sanctuaries, with its boss being Titanic Ant. It is found to the north of Onett, blocked off by a locked shack. In order to reach the sanctuary, Ness rids the streets of the city from the Sharks. As thanks, Ness is given the key to the shack by the mayor of Onett. Exiting through the broken back wall of the shack leads to the cave entrance.

Giant Step is home to several types of enemies, all based on small real world animals. The cave is named after a large footprint at the top of the hill, where Ness's Sound Stone will record the first melody after he has defeated Titanic Ant. When Ness exits out of the cave, he is told by a cop to come down to the police station for trespassing.
