America (Japanese: アメリカ America) is the setting of EarthBound Beginnings, which is based on the real-life United States of America. Specifically, the game most likely takes place in Nevada or another southwestern state, considering the geographical features such as Yucca Desert, Mt. Itoi, a swamp and Snowman. Eagleland, the setting of EarthBound, is understood to be a parody of America. The Map provided in the manual is intentionally inaccurate.

America features 7 towns; Podunk, Merrysville, Spookane, Snowman, Reindeer, Youngtown, and Ellay. A desert, a swamp, a cemetery, a zoo, a nature reserve, and a large mountain are also located on the outer edges of the towns. In addition to these areas, Magicant can be freely accessed via cave passageways. It also has a large train station.

Towns

	Podunk	Podunk is located in the north west of America and is the first town in the game, as well as the home of the player Ninten. The town features a downtown, a cemetery, the Canary Village, and a zoo. Many strange occurings happen at the start of the game, such as poltergeists attacking houses, artificial zombies threatening people, and zoo animals becoming hostile. Going east is a road to Merrysville and to the north is a cave containing an entrance to Magicant.
	Merrysville	Merrysville is Podunk's neighboring city located to the east of it. The town features the Twinkle Elementary School of which one of Ninten's traveling companions, Lloyd, attends to. Two factories are present in the town, the Sweet's Little Factory to the south, and the Duncan's Factory To the north. At the north of the town is the Union Station, the tunnel to the south leads to Reindeer.
	Reindeer	Reindeer is the largest city in America. The northeast of the town features farmlands, the northwest is the residential area, and the south is the downtown. The city is completely optional, of which the only story-based event being receiving Ana's lost hat from the old woman in the train station. Going west leads to the Mislay Triangle and east leads to Spookane.
	Spookane	Spookane is located between Reindeer and Snowman. The once thriving city has been abandoned due to being overrun by hostile creatures, forcing citizens to evacuate into a small residential area in the mountains. The abandoned downtown is in the east of the town and is now unpopulated. The west is the new residential area where the citizens now reside. The main place of interest is the Rosemary's house in the northern outskirts of the residential area, which is rumored to be haunted. The town's English name is a pun on the real-life city named Spokane.
	Snowman	Snowman is the smallest town in America and is located in the southern-eastmost area in America. It is known for its cold climate allowing it to constantly have snow for most of the year. Due to its cold climate, colds are more common here and often spread when talking to certain residents. A young girl and one of Ninten's traveling companions, Ana, lives in the chateau (church in the Japanese version) east of the town.
	Youngtown	Youngtown is a small town in a forest in the central east of America. All of the adults have been captured by aliens leaving the town to only be inhabited by children. The north exit leads to Yucca Desert and the east exit leads to the Swamp.
	Ellay	Ellay is the third largest city and is located in the northeast of America. The town is rather messy with trash commonly seen on the ground throughout the city. The town has also become dangerous due to the Bla-Bla Gang causing trouble throughout the town led by Teddy, who eventually reformed and joined Ninten. The city features the Live House which features music shows. North of the town is a harbor and west is a lookout town. Heading south leads to the Swamp and east leads to Mt. Itoi.
