Hippie Battle is the common name given to one of the battle themes present in EarthBound Beginnings composed by Hirokazu Tanaka. The song is officially referred to as Battle Theme 2 in the Mother Music Revisited Deluxe Disc 2 album.[1]
The song uses synthesized instruments to give out a rock and roll feel to it. It is used during fights against certain human enemies, most notably The Hippie (hence the song its popular name), and vehicular enemies. In EarthBound the song was remixed and commonly known as Franky. Both songs have been known for their similarities to the Chuck Barry song Johnny B. Goode.
