The Word on the Wind (Japanese おしゃベりなかぜ Talking Wind) is a game mechanic in Mother 3, giving hints and instructions on how to use PSI, and about the feverish status ailment. At the beginning and end of its hints, it makes a whooshing sound heard nowhere else in the game, as well as using the onomatopoeia "whoosh" at the beginning and end of its sentences.

Memo description

"Don't hesitate to listen closely to what rumors the wind has to say. Perhaps an important hint that will prove useful to your adventure is hiding within."

Trivia

  • If Lucas becomes feverish for the first time before Kumatora does, the text will refer to Lucas as female as it expects the situation to occur first with Kumatora.
