Pendant

Pendants (Japanese: ペンダント Pendant) are equippable items in all of the Mother games. They are equipped onto the body and are usable by all characters and in EarthBound and Mother 3, enhance their defensive capabilities. Each pendant gives a character protection from different types of psychic attacks.

In Mother

The Pendants in Mother have their own equipment slot, being displayed at the bottom of the equipment subscreen on the status screen. The pendants decrease the damage taken by certain PSI attacks by half.

Earth Pendant

The Earth Pendant, alternatively EarthPendnt, (だいちのペンダント Earth Pendant) halves all damage taken by PK Thunder when equipped. It can be purchased for $700 from one of the three gift shops in the northeastern portion of the town square in Magicant, being the shop located to the right of the other two.

In-game description

"When you USE it, it will defend against PK Thunder."

Fire Pendant

The Fire Pendant, alternatively FirePendant, (ほのおのペンダント Flame Pendant) halves all damage taken by PK Freeze when equipped. It can be purchased for $700 from one of the three gift shops in the northeastern portion of the town square in Magicant, being the shop located to the right of the other two.

In-game description

"When you USE it, it will defend against PK Freeze."

H2o Pendant

The H2o Pendant (しずくのペンダント Waterdrop Pendant) halves all damage taken by PK Fire when equipped. It can be purchased for $700 from one of the three gift shops in the northeastern portion of the town square in Magicant, being the shop located to the right of the other two.

In-game description

"When you USE it, it will defend against PK Fire."

Sea Pendant

The Sea Pendant (うみのペンダント Sea Pendant) halves all damage taken by PK Fire, PK Freeze and PK Thunder. Unlike the other three Pendants, it cannot be purchased, and can only be obtained once in the game. It is located in a present on a ledge near the highest accessible point of Mt. Itoi, and can also only be reached by first passing through a cave.

"When you USE it, it will defend against all PSI attack."
