Ness's family are relatives of the main character of EarthBound and live in the town of Onett.
Members
Ness's mother
Ness's mother supports Ness's intentions, and lets him search the meteor because she knows he will anyways. She is the one who sends him a letter around the end of the game's events.
Ness's father
Ness's father, while never shown in-game, plays an important role in the game. He calls Ness around the time Picky is brought home. After this point, he can be called to save the game and will give Ness an ATM card to use, storing money in the account at times. He was said to have taken money from Pokey's and Picky's father.
Tracy

Tracy is Ness's younger sister, who later gets a job and will deliver or store Ness's items.
