Lumine Hall is the seventh sanctuary location in EarthBound, found in a long tunnel that is connected to Tenda Village. It is guarded by Electro Specter.

Layout

The Lumine Hall dungeon is a long, maze-like cave. The cave consists of two levels and teaversing through it requires alternating through both levels. Progressing through the cave is done by climbing down the ladder accessed from going north at the fork from the entrance. The path makes a loop around to said ladder, then from there it will pass by a Talking rock as it goes south. It then turns west, then reach a ladder. Climbing up the ladder will lead to a hole dropping the player back into the lower level, then the path will go northeast to the ladder leading to Electro Specter.

Alternatively, past the ladder leading to the hole the path will turn northeast to another ladder, which leads straight to Electro Specter.

Role in EarthBound

With the Tendas now social, one opens the entrance to the Lumine Hall caves by moving the boulder from the entrance. Ness will meet a Talking rock who will inform him about the Talking rock in the Lost Underworld, as it is important for Ness to speak to it. Ness and his friends traverse through the caves to reach the Sanctuary Guardian of Lumine Hall, the Electro Specter. After emerging victorious, they drop into a hole leading outside to a set of hills with illuminating walls. Ness's thoughts will then be projected onto the walls:

"I'm Ness.... It's been a long road getting here... Soon, I'll be... Soon, I'll be... Soon, I'll be... What will happen to us? W... What's happening? My thoughts are being written out on the wall... or are they?"

Ness then sees a vision of his father holding him when he was a baby. Ness's Sound Stone records the Melody of Lumine Hall, then the team jump into the hole leading to the Lost Underworld.

  • The Talking rock erroneously refers to Lumine Hall as "Lumine Hole".
  • Entering this sanctuary is one of two anti-cheating checks that EarthBound performs.
  • Lumine Hall can appear in the "rip" in the sky on the Magicant (stage) in the Super Smash Bros. series.
