Cave before Fire Spring; appears once the Carbon Dog is defeated |
Diamond Dog is the second form of Carbon Dog. It appears when Carbon Dog's HP goes below a certain amount. Diamond Dog has higher defenses and offense than Carbon Dog, but its guts stat is lower; it can also use some PSI abilities. Diamond Dog begins the battle with a Shield β already active, so any physical damage will be reflected back at the party at first. The boss has two different biting attacks, one stronger and one weaker, but they both have the same description. As its name implies, Diamond Dog is capable of Diamondizing party members. Once it has been defeated, Ness is finally able to complete the Sound Stone's melody and enter Magicant.
Text | Effect |

Shield β | Cuts physical damage in half for Diamond Dog and reflects damage back |
