The Chimera Laboratory is a major point in Chapter 7 of Mother 3. It is located to the left of Club Titiboo and Murasaki Forest. It's location is revealed after a Pigmask mistakes Lucas for the Commander.
It belongs to the Pigmask army and is filled with equipment, animal and chimera skeletons and preserved bodies, aswell as a few live chimeras. The Most notable being the Ultimate Chimera and Almost Mecha Lion.
Zombidillos, enemies that can be fought here later, can be seen in cages. Coming back to this place later will allow Lucas to fight an enemy called Nice Poser, it is the only one in the game. Dr. Andonuts also appears here.
As Lucas arrives, he is again mistaken for a member of the army and is given a part-time job in the Lab. Pigmask's will not attack Lucas in this area for this time, but Lucas cannot leave either.
Salsa and his girlfriend Samba are roaming around in the laboratory, Lucas has been assigned to help find and Capture them. After an encounter with them, leaving the room triggers the boss fight of the area.
After defeating or loosing to the Chimera, you are informed of a "red Chimera with a huge mouth" and are also told how dangerous it is. After finding Salsa and clearing the area, the ultimate chimera is no longer a threat, but Pigmask's will recognise you as the enemy.
After this, the Laboratory serves little to no purpose other than a few enemies needed for the logbook.

Trivia
  • The Lab's storage room contains EarthBound references like the book "Overcoming Shyness" and the documents from the old Onett house that cost $7500.
  • Even when stuffed, a Save Frog still serves it's purpose.
