Old Sawbones Benny is a character in Mother. He is a doctor who resides in the hospital of Merrysville, which is named after himself.[1] He is the only doctor in the game who charges half the amount of money Ninten currently is carrying as the price for a treatment. If the amount of money he carries is odd, one dollar will be excluded in the calculation; thus the doctor charges nothing if Ninten carries 0$ or 1$. Revival of an unconscious party member does however always cost $190.

- His Japanese name is a reference to Ben Casey, a surgeon in a television show of the same name.
